A Day at FSM Invest Expo 2016

it was a fruitful day for my gf and i.
earlier yesterday morning along with her bff, we went to the "biggest" event hosted by Fundsupermart which they call it as "FSM Invest Expo 2016" hosted at Suntec Convention Hall 404.

well.. as compare to last year, it was indeed consider "big".
saw big names like Schroders, Aberdeeen, UOB, Nikko, Legg Mason and more.
visited most of their booths, but if u ask me what is the aim of visiting their booth. i couldn't answer it.

i went over one of the booth and asked the personnel, "any particularly reason(s) why u guys are prompting only this/these funds?"

he/she replied "oh, basically we base on the theme of this event and we came out with this/these." and then there was a awful silent, so i went off but back in my mind i was thinking, what is the aim of their sharing? i mean i can read these stuff online, all they have is just factsheet in their booth where these factsheet is readily available online. moreover they dont share alot on their fund. end result, they passed me their factsheet and i have to read myself. well...

crowds was consider ok for event like this.
there are basically 2 seminar halls. one was rather small (if u were there, u will know which one i referring to). because of the small seminar size, people was seen standing outside of the seminar hall. me? i skipped most of the seminars.

nevertheless there are alot of freebies to be grab. UOB Asset Management actually hired llao llao for free frozen yogurt to be given away. from the moment i reached the hall till the time i left the hall, the q is everlasting. another highlight is the free coffee booth by OWL Cafe. free coffee with every coupon exchange (found inside the goodie bag). not much q for the coffee. =)

overall, i collected alot of goodies from the event (see below) haha. and basically the only knowledge i took away is that FSM is offering 0% sale charge promotion from 11th June to 17th June 2016. with this, i declare a fruitful trip ! haha.

Few update for 9th June 2016

SPH Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) has the lowest gearing level of 25.7% among the 27 Singapore-listed REITs and six stapled trusts in the March quarter, a Singapore Exchange survey shows.

Mapletree Industrial Trust, Frasers Centrepoint Trust, CapitaLand Retail China and BHG Retail REIT all have gearing levels of below 30%.

UOB Kay Hian is keeping its “buy” call on ST Engineering with a $3.50 target price. The research house cites the “leadership” role the engineering service provider. The recent trial contract win for amphibious combat vehicles from the US Marines could further pave the way for more orders, boosting growth, it says. UOB also notes the company's capabilities in data analytics and cybersecurity which should eventually drive earnings growth compared with other industrials.

UOB Kay Hian has maintained its “buy” recommendation for Raffles Medical Group with an unchanged target price of $1.70. Here are the 5 reasons UOB Kay Hian believes Raffles Medical is “setting the stage for long-term growth”:

1) Priming for the big launch through acquisitions
2) Shanghai hospital project on track
3) Ensuring quality through group practice model
4) Continued growth at home market
5) Staff costs to remain elevated but not surprising

Late Post: Viva Business Park Site Survey

as many had know, one of key assets under Viva i Trust is undergoing major AEI.
use to call Chai Chee @ Technopark,
currently renamed to become Viva Business Park *nice name, thumb up*

being a shareholders of Viva I Trust,
i decided to go down and take a look since i always believe the concept of "you must know what you are buying" haha.

slide obtained from http://www.vivaitrust.com/investor_slides.html
the AEI is separated into 3 main phases
Phase 1: had completed and were fully leased *swee la
Phase 2: obtained TOP on 4th May 2016, not sure what is the status. open? fully leased?
Phase 3: will only finish in Q3 2016.

Phase one is the place where Decathlon Singapore is located and basically my gf and i walk around phase 1's area only. Saw Owl Cafe (yet to open), True Fitness's staffs prompting around the area outside Decathlon and a Dart's cafe/pub (open).

as for Decathlon, store is really huge. the store looks like some giant supermarket or Ikea, the only different is that it only sells sport related stuffs. one thing i must say is that the things they sell is really cheap. even my gf says she will come back again for the items they selling. quite a lot of people on that day (weekend). thumb up!

below are some of the pictures i took using my gf's HP.
yes i m using a non camera hp. =)
